Skips should only be filled level with the sides and not heaped above this as they need to be netted safely, dangerous or overloaded skips will not be collected until rectified.

If a service is requested or the skip is off hired it is the responsibility of the hirer to ensure the skip is fully accessible at all times for collection/service.

Any overfilled skips, delays or wasted journeys where we are unable to deliver/collect/service the skip due to access issues or obstruction will be assessed and charged for accordingly.

Skips can be placed on a private property such as your garden or drive, or on the public road outside your house.

You do not need a permit for a skip if it is placed on your own private property such as your garden or drive. However, a permit is required from your Local Authority if it is to be placed on a public road.

We can organise the permit on the customer’s behalf. Please note that there is a charge for the permit by the Council and there is a period of notice required for the skip to be sited on a public highway. The period of notice for Cumbria is 3 days.

We require 9.5 foot wide access to ensure safe access to where you need the skip delivered and placed.
